S.G. Vasudev

S.G. Vasudev is one of the prolific Indian artist born in 1941 at Mysore, Karnataka. He studied Diploma in Fine Arts at Government College of Fine Arts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu and also received a cultural scholarship for Painting by the Government of India in the 1960s. He got deeply influenced by D. R. Bendre's poem "Kalpa Vriksha Vrindavana". Vriksha is the representation of the ‘Tree of Life’ gradually attained a promient place in the works of Vasudev. It is regarded as a powerful concept in all the cultures and symbolisation of sexuality, fertility, procreation as well as links with our past.
