Dhoomimal Gallery Re-opens with a brand new look

Dhoomimal gallery, being one of the oldest galleries in India has existed in the heart of Connaught Place since 1936. Known for its Contemporary and Modern art, Dhoomimal has housed some of Indias’ most prestigious artists like Sailoz Mookherjea, F. N. Souza, Anjolie Ela Menon, M. F. Husain among others. Many a cerebral artist have got their platform from the gallery – new and established alike. The gallery has gone through a complete transformation having been renovated into a two storey interactive experience including a courtyard and a sculpture court; one of the few that exist in the country. Speaking to Uday Jain, the director of Dhoomimal Gallery, he said “ historically we have always been known for our collection of the Moderns but with a renewed energy and vision we are keen on having a strong contemporary line up who will be the future face of contemporary Indian art, we look forward to welcoming you to the gallery in its new avatar”. The gallery is open from Monday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
